The Green Business Task Force is
a new Chamber group that was founded in August 2007. It is
chaired Mark Elmore of Mark Elmore
Associates, Architects. There are three
objectives for the Task Force. One is creating green business
tools and opportunities for educating organizations. Second, we
work together to encourage green practices and, Third, we work
with business and realestate owners to promote environmentally
sustainable building expansion and development.
The Task Force is
made up of area business persons interested in
consulting with local businesses, offices, churches, and
organizations, and showing them the advantages of joining the
“green” movement. The group will make suggestions that can be
implemented to improve energy conservation, recycling/reusing,
purchasing, energy policies and practices, and air pollution
reduction.
Whether a business simply wants to learn how to save money while
being environmentally conscientious, or wants to take it to higher
levels--such as LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental
Design) certification, the Green Business Task Force has put
together a simple educational program for business owners in
McHenry County.
New Task Force members are always welcome. To participate on the
Task Force, businesses must be Chamber members. To learn more contact the Crystal Lake Chamber of Commerce at 815-459-1300 x10.
