The Green Business Task Force is a new Chamber group that was started in August 2007.  It is headed by John Pletz of ServiceMaster Clean by Pletz.  There are two objectives for the Task Force.  One is to save businesses money by instituting currently available sources for environmentally beneficial changes.  Another is to protect the global environment, helping to preserve it for future generations.

The Task Force is comprised of area business persons interested in consulting with local businesses, offices, churches, and organizations, and showing them the advantages of joining the “green” movement.  The group will make suggestions that can be implemented to improve energy conservation, recycling/reusing, purchasing, energy policies and practices, and air pollution reduction.

Whether a business simply wants to learn how to save money while being environmentally conscientious, or wants to take it to higher levels–such as LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification, the Green Business Task Force has put together a simple educational program for business owners in McHenry County.

New Task Force members are always welcome.  To participate on the Task Force, businesses must be Chamber members.  To learn more, or to schedule a FREE Assessment Audit,
